What: MedCamps is an organization working to improve the health and wellness of people suffering from chronic illnesses and disabilities. Using recreational and educational tools and experiences, the MedCamps staff offers continuous support to its campers.
How: During each week of the summer, a different camp is held at MedCamps, each designed specifically for a particular physical or mental disability. With the help of health professionals and trained staff, the camps make it possible for these children to experience camp free of charge. The camps are designed to help each camper reach their full potential and experience a fun-filled adventure. With safe and accessible activities, the campers are able to experience things that wouldn’t have been possible without MedCamps, and to do so in an environment dedicated to building confidence and instilling a sense of self-worth.
How FLOCK Supports:
House of Raeford Farms FLOCK and MedCamps began their partnership 5 years ago and have been working together ever since. House of Raeford employees support MedCamps activities, sponsor themed nights at the camp and help clean up between camp sessions. House of Raeford also donates product to the Camp as needed. FLOCK volunteers have especially enjoyed getting involved at the Fall Bash Carnival, a fun event that provides the opportunity to build relationships with the campers.
