Sunday Brunch Chicken & Waffles

Sunday Brunch Fried Chicken and Waffles

Total Time: 25-30 minutes

Waffle Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon granulated white sugar

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

pinch of salt

3/4 cup buttermilk

1 egg

2 tablespoons butter or oil for greasing

 

Additional Ingredients

Fried chicken breasts

Syrup

 

Directions

  1. Preheat waffle iron.
  1. Sift flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Mix together.
  1. Whisk together vanilla extract, buttermilk, and egg in a small bowl.

4.  `Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir to combine. Batter will be lumpy. Do not overstir.

  1. Brush the waffle iron with butter or oil. Pour enough batter to cover the waffle grid and cook until golden brown on both sides – approx. 3-5 minutes.

 

Serve with fried chicken and syrup.

 

Tip: Grease the waffle iron well before making each waffle for less sticking and easier clean up.
