Rose Hill, N. C. – September 29, 2020: Schools in Duplin County, North Carolina have been busy
planning and preparing for student arrivals on campus with plans and procedures to ensure everyone’s
safety. This certainly has not been a traditional start to the school year as teachers and students
embrace new methods of teaching and learning.
House of Raeford Farms FLOCK, the company’s non-profit arm, is supporting students returning to the
classroom in a unique way. In accordance with CDC guidelines, school water fountains will not operate.
Therefore, FLOCK is supplying 3,400 water bottles to the young people at Rose Hill-Magnolia
Elementary, Wallace Elementary, and Wallace-Rose Hill High so they can stay hydrated. Each class will
also have their own water cooler to resupply as needed.
“We see this as a practical way to stay involved with our local schools, and help to ease the transition
from remote learning back to the classroom,” said Tom Teachey, FLOCK’s outreach director for Duplin
County and the surrounding area. “We look forward to the joy, laughter, and learning that will take
place in our classrooms.”
Development of our youth is one of the key missions of FLOCK. House of Raeford FLOCK teams in
locations across the southeast U. S. participate in a wide variety of outreach activities to make a positive
difference in young lives.
