FLOCK Celebrates Lives at Christmas

Founded on the principle that we should strive to make a positive difference in people’s lives, House of Raeford Farms FLOCK aspires to be a beacon of light to those in need.  Focusing on communities where House of Raeford Farms operates, the nonprofit organization steps up every year to spread joy and share the spirit of Christmas!

For several seasons now, our Arcadia, Louisiana FLOCK team has supported children served by the Court Appointed Special Advocate Association (CASA) in the Arcadia region.  This year the Arcadia employees stuffed stockings with gifts for all 100 kids helped by CASA.  In addition, the team purchased full sets of clothing for 14 CASA children (shirts, pants, underwear, jackets, and shoes) and a choice of a toy and dream gift for each child.  Finally, Arcadia started a new outreach at Leslie Lakes Retirement Center by providing an array of gifts ranging from hygiene products to games to clothing and so much more, from which the residents could choose.  For some these may be the only Christmas presents they receive.

House of Raeford’s Filet of Chicken (FOC) location in Forest Park, Georgia continued their annual donation of over 300 turkeys to local food banks and churches, serving members of the community facing economic challenges including rising food costs.  FOC donated items such as towels, detergent, and over-the-counter medicine to local emergency and short-term shelters serving the homeless. Our Forest Park employees also contributed to a toy drive sponsored by the USDA FSIS inspectors in the Carrollton, Georgia circuit.

In our Rose Hill, North Carolina operation, we once again reached out to a local assisted living home, The Gardens of Rose Hill, to spread Christmas cheer to the residents.  Besides providing gift bags stuffed with a variety of hygiene items, blankets, and other fun things for the recipients, the complex also donated a projector and large screen so the men and women can enjoy movies in a theater-like setting.  In past years, Rose Hill has contributed a commercial popcorn machine and even installed individual birdhouses outside each room so residents could enjoy a little touch of nature from their window.

Finally, the associates working at House of Raeford’s Greenville location adopted a number of foster children via an Angel Tree and provided gifts from each child’s wish list.  Greenville also donated both chicken products and monetary gifts to support outreach activities of local nonprofits, including organizations we partner with throughout the year.  These make such an impact on the lives of hundreds, if not thousands, in the local community.

As we experience the loving gift of Jesus this Christmas season, it compels House of Raeford Farms and FLOCK (Faithful Love Offering for Christ’s Kingdom) to be good stewards of His gifts to us by loving and giving to those around us all year.  We ask that you also consider what you may do personally to add some celebration to lives in your family and town.
