For over a year House of Raeford Farms has paid tribute to those in the Duplin County, North Carolina community who share their lives by serving others. Often unrecognized, these individuals come from our schools, emergency services, medical facilities, House of Raeford operations, and more. Once again, the FLOCK Cares honorees for November 2022 exhibit unselfish attitudes toward others, always striving to do something extra.
Melsheena Wilson – Schoolteacher – Rose Hill-Magnolia Elementary – Rose Hill, NC (3rd from left)
“Melsheena Wilson is a blessing to all lucky enough to know her,” said Susan Sellers, principal at Rose Hill-Magnolia Elementary school. “She is a daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, former JKHS Tiger, UMO Trojan, Army veteran, coach, friend, and teacher. This is her sixth year teaching at Rose Hill Magnolia, and we could not be more thankful for her!”
With a full plate of her own, Melsheena does not hesitate to help others. Due to current vacancies in her grade level, Ms. Wilson is essentially teaching Math to the entire fifth grade – zooming in lessons to other classrooms and tutoring after school. She coached the school volleyball team to their best record ever this year. She has even driven a bus when the need arose.
“Ms. Wilson epitomizes teamwork and loyalty, and does whatever it takes with no expectation of anything in return,” Sellers continued. “She always has a smile on her face and a purpose in her walk.”
Catherine Arellano – HACCP/Food Safety Coordinator– House of Raeford – Wallace, NC Processing Plant (3rd from left)
Catherine worked with House of Raeford’s Wallace processing plant prior to the devastating fire in 2017, and returned when the processing plant reopened. She stepped into the HACCP/Food Safety Coordinator Role a couple of years ago and has really excelled.
Although Catherine is quiet and operates behind the scenes, she is a critical part of the Quality Assurance department. Dawn Lynch, QA Manager, describes Catherine as “smart, professional, dependable, quick to volunteer, kind, and just an all-around great employee. We are honored to have her as part of our team.”
Raymonda (Shan) Scott – Medical Technician – Gardens of Rose Hill – Rose Hill, NC (2nd from right)
Shan is a true example of a healthcare hero. She is a very dedicated and caring employee. Shan has been with the company for over four years. Through her time at the Gardens of Rose Hill, she has worked her way up from being a personal care aide to a medical technician. She is committed to always putting the residents first and making sure they receive needed care.
“Shan is a great asset to our team at the Gardens of Rose Hill, and a blessing to her coworkers and the residents,” shared Alisha Edge, Executive Director. “Her caring and compassion is what makes our heart smile!”
