LAMB (Least Among My Brethren) is a foundation started by the Knights of Columbus in North Carolina to assist Exceptional Children facing intellectual and developmental challenges. It has become a national Knights of Columbus program, and LAMB is a sponsor of the Special Olympics.
Building on LAMB’s mission, in 2008 Bill Lord, a member of the Knights of Columbus in Wallace, North Carolina, started a golf tournament to raise funds to support our Exceptional Children (EC) in Duplin County, NC. The first year they had 24 players and a couple of hole sponsors.
Unfortunately, shortly after the event, Bill was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He was there for the second tournament but passed away soon after. As a memorial, the Wallace Knights of Columbus council named the tournament in his honor.

“We are blessed that House of Raeford FLOCK has been our major Gold sponsor for at least 14 years,” said Mike Vandiver, Event Coordinator. “Thanks to major sponsors like House of Raeford, last year we contributed $14,000 in grants to our Duplin County EC teachers and other programs that support Exceptional Students.”
“Over the last seventeen years we have donated over $125,000 in grants, enriching the lives of countless children across the county,” Vandiver continued.
In the early years, the tournament raised enough money to support one major program at the Duplin Schools. For example, providing playground equipment for the Exceptional Students at Kenansville Elementary and Warsaw Elementary. Over the years as the event has grown, LAMB has been able to provide grants to every local school based on grant requests submitted by EC teachers.
