FLOCK Team Prepares Easter Baskets for Gibsland Head Start Students
In northern Louisiana, where community ties run deep and kindness is more than a gesture, the Arcadia FLOCK team at House of Raeford Farms is quietly transforming lives. For over a decade, this devoted group of employees has proven that even the smallest acts of generosity can create powerful ripples. Whether it’s providing food, uplifting vulnerable groups, or simply offering a smile, Arcadia FLOCK lives out its mission with compassion, consistency, and unconditional love.
Champions of Compassion
This incredible team is led by eight employees who span both the processing and live production sides of House of Raeford Farms:
- Josh Cannon – Breeder Manager
- Jason Mayo – Live Operations Manager
- Sara Byrd – Live Haul Supervisor
- Rachel Ovitt – Feed Coordinator
- Vicky Hernandez – Plant Superintendent
- Beth Guidry – Sales and Transportation Assistant
- Holly Phillips – Assistant Sales Manager
- Thomas Edwards – Chaplain
Team members are selected either through peer recommendations or by demonstrating heartfelt involvement at FLOCK-sponsored events. Regardless of their job titles, each one brings a unique gift—grounded in humility and a desire to serve.

Purpose-Driven Partnerships
Arcadia FLOCK prioritizes outreach efforts where House of Raeford’s employees and growers live and work, focusing on initiatives that uplift families directly connected to their community. By partnering with nonprofits that already have solid infrastructure, the team amplifies their impact and makes sure every effort counts.
One such organization is Louisiana Adult and Teen Challenge, offering faith-based rehabilitation for those battling addiction. FLOCK has supported their events with funding and a readiness to provide more when needed. “Everyone needs help sometimes,” says Josh Cannon. “A single heartfelt gesture can completely change the trajectory of someone’s life.”

Nourishing Body and Spirit
House of Raeford’s connection to food has made chicken donations a centerpiece of FLOCK’s giving. Organizations like Reaching Forward Ministries, Wings to Recover, and Lending a Helping Hand for Jesus receive monthly contributions. And every Thanksgiving, over 7,000 whole chickens are packed and donated to the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana, ensuring brighter holidays for thousands in need.
Joy for Every Child
For more than ten years, Arcadia FLOCK has championed MedCamps of Louisiana, a summer camp experience tailored for children with special needs. From themed meals and clean-ups to fundraising events, the team shows up wholeheartedly. Beth Guidry reflects, “Serving these children has affected me spiritually and emotionally. It’s a powerful reminder of all we have to be grateful for.”

Outreach That Uplifts All Ages
FLOCK’s compassion reaches retirement communities such as Willow Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Leslie Lakes Retirement Center, where they provide seasonal Christmas gifts, salon services, bingo prizes, and joyful events. These visits transform quiet holidays into cherished memories.
They’ve also brightened Arcadia with community events like Easter Egg Hunts and Family Fun Days, provided fans for heat relief, and delivered snack baskets to seniors and people with disabilities in low-income housing. Their financial support extends to the Buddy Walk for Down Syndrome, the Arcadia Boys and Girls Club, and CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), an organization helping children find safe, permanent homes.

Final Word: Love in Action
Arcadia FLOCK is more than a volunteer group—it’s a heartbeat in the community. Every donation, every visit, every moment spent in service stems from a profound desire to show unconditional love. “Seeing the joy on people’s faces makes it all worthwhile,” says Holly Phillips. And as Sara Byrd puts it: “House of Raeford gives us the chance to serve. That opportunity is a gift.”
The team’s mission is ever evolving, fueled by the question that drives them forward: Where can we bring love next?
