The beginning of every school year brings with it the mad dash to gather up school supplies so students will get off to a good start. For some that often presents a struggle to afford the basic necessities. In today’s environment of ever-increasing prices, it is even more difficult.
House of Raeford’s West Columbia, South Carolina location decided to step forward and ease the pain. In cooperation with the West Columbia Police Department and Turner Memorial AME Church, our FLOCK team donated $1.200.00 to purchase all of the supplies that would be needed for the giveaway. Turner Memorial hosted the back-to-school bash on Saturday, August 13 assisted by local police officers.
Smiling children with their parents received multicolored book bags filled with items that the students will need as schools open this week. “House of Raeford is very active in supporting our local schools with a variety of initiatives,” said Chuck Underhill, FLOCK representative. “It is wonderful to see these kids begin the school year on a good note.”
