Transforming the Lives of Children of Wounded Warriors
After the 2022 edition of the Carolinas Classic, House of Raeford Farms FLOCK donated $15,000 to Camp Corral including all proceeds from game ticket sales. However, FLOCK decided that support for this organization must continue beyond the Classic.
Therefore, as we celebrate the Month of the Military Child in April and Military Appreciation Month in May, FLOCK is stepping up their funding. FLOCK will match all contributions up to a maximum of $10,000 made through the special donation button below.
House of Raeford Farms FLOCK board members met the leaders of Camp Corral in 2020 during preparation for the Carolinas Classic All-Star Basketball Games sponsored by FLOCK. There was an immediate connection between the two non-profit organizations. FLOCK is all about the development of young people to achieve their God-given purpose in life, while Camp Corral focuses on healing the hurting children of our wounded, ill, and fallen military heroes. The overriding purpose of both groups is to empower America’s children to live their best lives possible. This testimony from one military family underscores the tragedy, pain, hope, and restoration process offered by Camp Corral:
Gerri, the grandmother of Landon and Maddie, tells the story of how the children struggled after learning that their father lost his life while serving with the military in Afghanistan. Maddie withdrew from others, while Landon had to learn how to trust people again. After connecting with their local YMCA in the state of Washington, the family was welcomed with open arms. In addition to year-round recreation activities, both children received opportunities to participate in Camp Corral’s summer camp programs hosted at their local YMCA.
“Attending Camp Corral at YMCA Camp Seymour has been life changing for these kids,” said Gerri. “The first thing Landon said when he came home the first year was, ‘They get it, Grandma. They get it.’ The support and experiences of those camps have given us back our kids.”
